"Roederer is today at the top of the Champagne Houses" Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2016 (La Revue des Vins de France)
Currently, the Roederer house is at the head of an imposing 240 ha vineyard, spread over 420 plots, mainly planted with Pinot Noir, and above all exclusively planted with Premiers Crus and Grands Crus. Perpetuating the tradition of a demanding and environmentally friendly viticulture, the Rouzaud family, owners of Roederer Champagnes and of the famous Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in the commune of Pauillac in Bordeaux, are giving an ever-increasing share to organic and biodynamic viticulture in their vineyard. In addition, the House's flagship cuvée, Cristal de Roederer, is undergoing biodynamic conversion.
The Cuvée Louis Roederer Brut Premier is composed of a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier. This cuvée benefits from a 33% contribution of reserve wine from the House, vinified in oak barrels. This wine is matured for three years in the cellars of Maison Roederer, followed by a six-month rest after disgorging. It is a creamy, salty and slightly lemony Champagne, which achieves a clever balance between freshness and vinosity. It is perfect both as an aperitif and with a meal.
Cotation Suckling : 97/100
Varietal(s): 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay
Degree: 12°
Origin: France - Champagne
